Top 10 Pool Opening Tips
1. Remove and store your cover.
2. Connect the pool equipment.
3. Add Water
Raise the water level to its normal level which should be to about the middle of the skimmer opening or midway up the tile. A great way to consistently maintain your water level without constant monitoring is with an automatic water leveler.
4. Clean Your Pool
Use the following steps to clean your pool:
5. Adjust your pH and Alkalinity levels
If total alkalinity is higher than 180 ppm, it must be lowered. Leslie’s Dry Acid will lower Total Alkalinity. If the Total Alkalinity is below 80 ppm, it must be raised. Leslie’s Alkalinity Up will raise the Total Alkalinity. Once the Total Alkalinity is in the proper range of 80 – 120 ppm , the pH should then be adjusted to fall within the range of 7.4 - 7.6. If you have adjusted the Total Alkalinity first, the pH should be close to the proper range. Use Leslie's Soda Ash to make any necessary adjustments to your pH.
6. Add shock
We carry chlorine and non-chlorine oxidizers in various strengths for every pool size and type. Power Powder Plus works great in concrete or gunite pools. Chlor Brite is a great choice for vinyl or fiberglass pools. Use in conjunction with Fresh 'N Clear Non-chlorine Oxidizing Shock for superior sanitation.
7. Add stabilizer
