Testing your water

The test kit is the pool owner’s primary analysis tool. Testing indicates the condition of your water. When you go to a doctor, he requests that certain tests be made when you arrive at his office. If your preliminary tests are normal and you have no symptoms, your doctor assumes you are fine or healthy. If the preliminary tests are not in normal ranges and you have other symptoms, your doctor may order further tests to assist him in a diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Your test kit is similar. If your preliminary tests are within established normal ranges you can assume you pool water is OK. However, if the initial tests are above or below normal ranges, more testing or chemical additions may be necessary to bring the water to its ideal condition.
