Description

The Star 100 Anti-Vortex Main Drain Cover has a distinctive star shape with rectangular holes, designed to prevent body/limb entrapment and hair entanglement. This unique design meets the current ASME/ANSI performance requirements within the aquatic safety community. The general suction design allows the water to flow underneath the cover through the scalloped edges so the strongest suction is not able to pull straight down and the large 13" diameter opening allows water to safely flow through the cover at 80 gallons a minute. This flow rate is not strong enough for hair entrapment or suction hazards although it provides adequate circulation for residential pools. The Anti-Vortex Main Drain Cover is constructed of heavy plastic with UV inhibitors; this cover will not break down as a result to sunlight nor will any plastic materials leach into the water. This design can be mounted on either horizontally or vertically installed suction outlets with four slots to allow different screw patterns so the cover can fit any sump up to 10". Back to Top
