Activation Instructions and Tips
The monitoring system is a highly-sensitive, scientific instrument, so the setup and activation of your ePOOL are critical to successful operation. Here are some reminders to help with activation:
- Review all instructions and information in the Owner's Manual.
- Assemble and setup the in-pool monitor first. You may experience communication difficulties if you program the in-house receiver before you have the monitor in the water.
- Use caution when removing the sensor-loc cap. The glass bulb and sensor on the monitor are fragile and can be easily broken. Do not set the monitor down without the loc-cap in place or it will damage the sensor.
- For accurate readings, rinse the sponge inside the sensor loc-cap in your pool water prior to installing the monitor in your pool.
Communication between the in-pool monitor and in-house receiver is essential.
- For best results, keep the receiver within 50 feet of the monitor.
- Place the in-house receiver in a window facing the swimming pool. It should have an unobstructed line of sight so the RF transmission is not blocked. You may need to tether the monitor to a section of your pool so that it doesn't drift into a "dead zone" where the transmission would be blocked.
- Do not set the receiver near a TV or other appliance that gives off electrostatic interference.
- Avoid using extension cords with the in-house receiver.
If you experience communication issues between the monitor and receiver, adjust the location of the components using the guidelines listed here, unplug the cord from the top of the receiver, wait 10 seconds, and then plug it back it in.
