Description
AquaChek Iron measures Total Iron, which includes ferric (Fe3+) as well as ferrous (Fe2+) forms. Some companies sell test strips that measure only the ferrous form of iron, whereas ferric iron is actually more common in pool and spa water.Iron may be present in the source water that feeds a pool or spa. In many regions, high levels of Total Iron can present a persistent problem. In addition, corrosion of iron pipes can cause staining of pool or spa walls and fixtures.

More Info
Iron is a common water contaminant. It is a metal that can cause staining and water discoloration. Levels of iron above 0.3 ppm (mg/L) can be very problematic. Excess iron can cause stains on the liner and/or interior of your pool or spa. High levels of iron can also lead to rust on metal fixtures and in plumbing. Also high levels have been known to develop a metal taste in the water. Back to TopCan't Find What You Are Looking For?
