Systems Network Administrator

The Systems Network Administrator is responsible for the performance, security, integrity, and support of a multi-site network infrastructure. In this key position you will troubleshoot and resolve network and Telecom related issues, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN and security appliances. You will use your technical expertise to monitor servers and applications to ensure optimum performance, stability and reliability. You will develop a disaster recovery plan, which includes engaging in company wide network planning and design. You will also be responsible for network security including intrusion detection, content inspection and user authentication. You will support an environment consisting of windows network servers, tape backup devices, network attached storage and other related equipment. You will also research, recommend and implement new products, applications and systems that are server, network or telecom related. You will participate in budgeting, strategic planning and in the development of network related policies and procedures. This position provides level 3 help desk support to users and functions at an advisory level to other IT support personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years working with and installing Windows servers. MCSE certification preferred.
• 5+ years experience with medium size LAN and WAN networks. Knowledge of MPLS, Frame Relay and DSL based VPN networks preferred.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot MS Exchange 2000, SQL 2005, DNS, WINS, and DHCP services.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex TCP/IP, frame relay and VPN issues.
• Advanced working knowledge of Cisco routers, firewalls & Intrusion Protection Systems, CCNA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of computer network security systems.
• 5+ years of PC hardware and software experience.
• Knowledge of enterprise level PBX and voice mail systems. Avaya Definity system knowledge preferred.
• Ability to develop and manage projects.
• Ability to evaluate critical systems, prioritize workflow and determines solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Great customer service skills are required
